The craftsman: top pastry chef William Werner. The wolves: a world of oxford cloth nonbelievers with legal precedent and little imagination. Out of the embers of the Tell Tale Preserve Company came a food concept founded on curiosity, discovery, and turning tradition on its head. A city of pedants and epicures nodded its collective head in approval.
